Revised Summer Church Service Hours

After the last Vestry Meeting, Pastor and Vestry decided that for the summer have one service each Sunday. Starting June, church service will be held at 9:00 a.m. only. This will remain in effect through September 1. Starting September 8, we will go back to worshiping at 8:00 a.m and 10:30 a.m.

Revised Liturgical Summer Schedule: Come and pick up your REVISED LITURGICAL SCHEDULE in the office. Assignments have changed! Please compare the Revised Liturgical Schedule to your calendars at home.

Healing Prayers after Service

The Rev. Gini Hart is a deacon who has moved to Lodi from the Diocese of Nevada. Gini has worked for many years in healing ministry, and is a member of the Order of St. Luke. She will be leading healing prayers following the 10:30 service. If you want to pray for someone else’s healing, or for your own intentions, just come to the front row of the church after the organ postlude.

A Special Coffee Hour in Memory of Joan Hyerle-Milburn

After both services Sunday, the Church Kitchen Bible Study Group is hosting a very special coffee hour. Yvonne Schildt’s daughter, Joan Hyerle-Milburn, passed away. Her bible study group is hosting Sunday’s coffee hour in Joan’s memory. Please join us in honor of Joni and in support of Yvonne.

The Bishop Is Coming/All Parish Picnic

On Sunday, June 9 The Rt. Rev. Chester Talton will be celebrating with us. We will have one combined service at 10:30 a.m. Following that service, we will be continuing the tradition of an All Parish Picnic. This is planned as a potluck style meal. If your last name starts with A-L, please bring a salad; M-Z, please bring a side dish. The Vestry will provide a main course, and The Fellowship Committee will provide dessert.

Register for Vacation Bible School NOW!

Registration forms are now available at the ministry table to participate in the God’s Backyard Bible Camp program June 10-14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are working in conjunction with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Registration is $40 per child with a $100 maximum per family until June 3. Volunteers are needed to teach and lead rotations; aid leaders and guide groups between rotations; and help as lunch monitors. Musicians to help with morning and afternoon worship are welcome. Please sign up on the sheet at the back of the church.

Adult Forum Bible Study Coming June 16

During Pastor Jim’s vacation June 16 through July 7, the Adult Forum will be a Bible study focusing on the New Testament book of Colossians. This wonderful book is a letter from St. Paul to encourage Christians and to spur them on to steadfast faith and growth in Jesus.

Jeannie Canwell will lead the study following the service (beginning at 10:30), four Sundays starting June 16. Please bring your Bibles and come explore the word of God together.

Help Is Needed with Fair Trade Coffee Sales

Please see Sharon to volunteer to help over this summer. The sale of fair trade coffee, tea, cocoa and chocolate continues after the 9:00 a.m. service starting June 16. Your purchase blesses our community by bringing us closer to our goal of providing playground equipment for our children here, and blesses others by conserving the earth and providing a fair wage to farmers. To volunteer, contact Sharon or the Parish Office.

Sunday School Takes Summer Break

Our Sunday School program year ends May 26. Beginning June 2, our Sunday school for grades 1 to 6 will be on break. Children are invited to pick up an activity bag as they come into church and to sit with their families during services. We will resume our regular Sunday school classes on September 8 with a new curriculum at the beginning of the new program year. Teachers, we hope that you will enjoy this “time off” and return refreshed in the fall for another rewarding year of teaching.

Preschool and the nursery will continue to provide lessons and care for our younger children.

Children’s Chapel will continue to meet on the first Sunday of every month.

Youth Group will also take a break from weekly meetings during the summer, but keep your eyes peeled for special events in the coming months!
