Earthquake Relief Needed for the People of Nepal

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on the morning of April 25. The UN estimates that eight million people been affected – more than a quarter of the population. Nearly 5,000 deaths have been confirmed, with over 10,000 injured. Many villages near the epicenter were totally destroyed.
Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD) is partnering with the ACT Alliance in Nepal to help meet urgent needs such as food, clean water and shelter, as well as support for assessment and search and rescue teams. Following the initial relief phase, this ERD’s Nepal Relief fund will continue to support longer-term recovery efforts with local partners. Please give generously – before the earthquake, Nepal was among the poorest nations in the world, with few resources to cope with a disaster of this scale.
Donations can be made directly on ERD’s web site, https://www.episcopalrelief.org/NepalRelief;
