There are a number of ways you can support the ministry and mission of St. John’s:
Teachers lead classes one Sunday per month.
Support our children in the parish. Lead or assist in Children’s Chapel once a month.
Help support our children’s contributions to the parish. Pick up donated bottles/cans and have them recycled.
Extend a St. John’s welcome to weekday callers and visitors.
Sign up at the Coffee Hour table to provide Sunday refreshments.
Provide a meal, a ride, or other help to fellow parishioners. Contact the church office.
Bread Bakers Guild
The Bread Bakers prepare the small round communion loaves that are used at each Sunday Eucharist and at other times during the year when the communion is celebrated such as funerals, weddings, or special liturgies. Whether you bake homemade bread on a regular basis or would like to learn our simple, whole wheat recipe, please consider joining us and being part of the sacramental life of St. John’s. Each member bakes bread two months of Sundays in a calendar year which takes a lot less time and effort than you might think. Demonstrations are held in the church kitchen as needed.
Donate nonperishable food items
This month’s donations go to the Salvation Army. Leave your contribution in the baskets near the nametag table at the back.
Use your gifts as a reader or minister by serving as a lector, Eucharistic minister, acolyte, soundboard operator, or Eucharistic visitor.
Foyer Notre Dame in Haiti
At Foyer Notre Dame, the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti provides residents a place to sleep, meals, community, and safety from the streets. Sponsoring one resident costs $200 per month. The vestry has set as our goal the sponsorship of one resident for a year. Put your contribution into one of the envelopes in the pews marked “Haiti.”
