Sunday, November 9 “All Good Gifts”—2015 Annual Stewardship Campaign

This year’s annual campaign is designed to help us reflect on the gifts we receive and the gifts we have to offer. As we launch the campaign, your vestry invites your participation in one of three presentations which will be offered on November 9. The same presentation will be offered following both services and at the adult forum time at 9:30. Come learn about our the impact of our campaign and some of our special needs for 2015.

All Souls’ Commemoration

Our local celebration to remember those dearly departed will take place on Sunday, November 9 at both services. This year a formal reading of those buried in the Memorial Garden will be held and new plaques for the garden and columbarium will be blessed in the liturgy. Members of the congregation will have an opportunity to name out loud those loved ones who are now in the nearer presence of God. There will not be a sign up sheet this year, as in the past. -EHB+

Sermon from 10/26

The Rev. Randy Knutson
The Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost: Proper 25
October 26, 2014
Listen to this…Sermon 2014.10.26 RK

‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it.’ And
‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
What could be truer? What could be simpler?
These are embedded in our worship together, in more ways that we might suspect. Listen to this Collect that began our Diocesan worship in Friday night:
“O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Or what our Confession will contain later in this Eucharist:
“We have not loved you with our whole heart;
We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.”

Gardening Laborers Needed

Volunteers are needed to do the work of preparing the ground in front of the chapel so that the landscape can be planted. There is a sign-up sheet at the Ministry Table. This will be fairly labor intensive work.

Help Feed Our Youth!

Please consider taking one Sunday this fall to bring and/or a simple lunch for our twenty youth and teachers. A sign up sheet is on the Ministry Table. We are looking for one course easy meals. We also need volunteers to help set the tables and clean up afterwards. Many thanks for this special ministry with our youth.
